During the set-up for the afternoon's events, the Samoan Savai'i team were doing a training run on the mid-field. They left the field as we held opening announcements and prayers. Then the events were underway.

Papua New Guinea Athletes in the USA
Papua New Guinea's athletes made a fine start to their USA campaign at the weekend with Sharon Henry running a personal best time in the 400m hurdles and Toea Wisil posting seasons best performances in both the 100m and 200m.
Coca Cola Light Games - Final Wrap-up
Suva awoke to steady rain, but by the time the first event had started the weather was fine and remained that way for the rest of the day.

Favourite for the first event, the Open Girls' 3000m, was Akesa Drotini.

New Caledonia Looking to the Future
The League of New Caledonia d' Athlétisme (LNCA) benefitted from the school holidays when they organized a training course of athletics on Monday 7 Tuesday 8 Wednesday April 9. The objective of the training course consisted of a grouping of the young athletes (youngest children, tiny, juniors, juniors) resulting from various school establishments of Large Noumea (ONES) in order to familiarize them with the federal sporting framework (LNCA.

Mini SPG Cook Islands - Logo
Mini South Pacific Games 2009 - Change of Date
The Organizing Committee of the 2009 Mini Pacific Games in the Cook Islands has amended the schedule of the quadrennial meet a week earlier than the original date.

The 2009 Mini Games in Rarotonga will now be held from 21 September to 2 October, instead of the initial schedule from 18 September to 9 October.

Oceania Championships 2008 Logo Released
Northern Marianas Athletics yesterday released its logo for the 2008 Oceania Athletics Association Area Championships and Grand Prix Series.

The logo, showing a running man and the CNMI's latte stones, was conceptualized by NMA officials with help from local artists. The logo also has some palm trees that is a trademark of the Pacific islands

Host Federation Sought for 2010 Oceania Area Championships
Federations wishing to host the 2010 Championships and Grand Prix Series are now invited to make application to the to the Oceania Athletics Association.
Oceania Championships 2008
The Oceania Area Championships and Grand Prix Series will be conducted in the Northern Mariana Islands - Saipan, during the week 21 - 28 June.
